Description Extended Information   18 Julio 1936 - 1937. Arribas, 1936. This is an image first produced in Spain during that countries Civil War period. It depicts a farmer and a soldier fighting off invaders. The image is an allusion to the hard fought for elections which took place in 1936 in which the left wing and socialist forces took the lion's share of votes and positions in the election. In this same year the wealthy and the fascists led by Franco began a bloody and merciless battle to take back the government from the people.
